Can You Earn Money Through Google Adsense?

Every single day I receive emails asking me if I earn money through Google's AdSense program. It seems everyone wants to know if they can earn money as well. I feel that this topic has been covered a good bit, but thought I would add my two cents as well in hopes that my followers who are wondering if it works might realize that YES it works.
Earning money through Google's AdSense program can be slow to start with and I think this is why people get discouraged and wonder if they will ever reach payout (which is $100 by the way). It might seem like forever away, but if you stick with writing and using Google's program, then you will eventually reach payout.
The more hubs you write, the more your information is out there on the internet. Quantity in hubs is directly related to quantity in ad money. Quantity is not the only thing that matters though. Quality is even more important. Write about interesting things, use correct grammar, write complete sentences and write correctly. Good writing will attract more people. The more people view your hubs, the more money you will receive through AdSense.
The title is very important. When writing your title think about what people will be searching for to find your hub. Keywords are also important. I am not an expert in keyword optimization by any means (truly I don't understand it much), but whatever topic you are writing on think about the keywords that relate to that topic. For instance if you are writing about dogs, use the word dog rather than your dog's name in your post. People will not be searching for your dog's name, but if they need information on dogs they will use the word dog. Is your post breed specific? Use the name of the breed. The better the title and keywords are, the quicker Google will find your hub and hopefully rank it high. The higher the rank, the more hits you will get.
I have said it before, but I will say it again. The more people view your hubs, the more AdSense money you will get. Get your hubs out there for the world to see. Link to them whenever you can, wherever you can. You need to realize that it takes time. I received my first payout NINE months after starting to write for HubPages. But I received my next payout just four months later and another one two months after that. In a little over a year I was receiving a payout from Google AdSense every single month and still do today. Yes it can be done, but there is no get rich quick scheme here. Work hard, write a lot, and you will see the rewards - eventually.

well said- i can see a little snowball growing in my own account, might take 12 months to pay out, but I enjoy writing about what I want to write rather than the sales stuff which brings in revenue (so they say)

Thank you for sharing your approach to HP. Mine is similar to yours. Although I don't write a lot of Hubs, and I am definitely not a keyword expert, the AdSense dollars definitely grow through time.
This is very encouraging. Sometimes it is hard to have patience and wait...but, I am starting to see mine grow too and it has been a whole year. I am looking forward to the time when I get a payout every month!

Adsense is way over rated in my opinion. But, still, it is a source of income. You just need to understand it's place and work with it, and not expect it to be something it is not.

I'm not a keyword expert either. I just write about things I am interested in and things I enjoy. I just finished my best month ever in August as far as adsense revenue goes. So hopefully my earnings will continue to increase. Thanks for another great hub Jennifer!

I am nearly there to my Google Payout limit. My money is euros so it is at €70 for a payout. I am up to €56 so far.
I have been studying a lot about Google keywords because if I want to earn money I know I have to get it right. Like you say quantity, quality and knowledge is the answer
With adsense, as with many things, the more effort you put in the more you get out. So as you say the more quality hubs you have the better chance you have of earning. Something which many people don’t realise that certain niches pay better than others when it comes to adsense, due to what people pay to advertise. So for example writing about SEO, Making money online and even adsense has the potential to earn more than writing about movies due to what is spent on advertising.

Well written. It is true that it takes a while to see the fruits of your labors. However, if you stick to it, work hard, and don't lose faith the rewards are there in the end. You can make money.
In order to earn more with Adsense, one has to be aware of the concept of Ad Blindness. Ad Blindness is when people are already immune to ads and their mind has been programmed to ignore it, especially adsense ads.
One way to cure is to use multiple ad templates or color which can be generated through your google adsense account. You can choose up to four (4), with this your ads changes color every time it is loaded, so the user would see something new and would be more inclined to click your ads.
On the side, you should also study affiliate marketing which may earn you more than you can earn with Adsense and the minimum payout can be lower therefore allowing you to enjoy your earnings earlier.

I like writing for Hubpages. I made payout after 6 months, which really got me motivated to write more. I really saw a difference when I wrote more than ten hubs a month.

Even before I became a HubPages member I had been using Google Adsense Ads for about three years. I was using them on various websites of mine. I have earnings so far of just over $25.00. So it does take time and the Google Adsense Ads do work. This is why I joined HubPages so I could do some writing and try to increase those earnings. So hang in there. Google Adsense Ads do work.
